Come Fly Fishing with Us

Interested in an unparalleled fly fishing trip spent learning from one of your favorite fly fishing authors?

For two full days on the water, with four-star accommodations - all in a beautiful setting selected by the host author - you’ll get individual instruction, share meals, swap fish stories, and most important, fly fish side-by-side with one of the most recognized names in the field.

Here is an early sampling of the fly fishing trips we’re planning for this year and the next:

BONEFISH
Oliver White, co-owner of Abaco Lodge and Bair’s Lodge, Bahamas will be your host and companion. Oliver, who began his guiding in the eastern Smoky Mountain foothills, was featured recently in Forbes magazine, is the first man to catch an Arapaima on the fly, and is the author of an upcoming fly fishing tips book from Stonefly Press.

CARP
Kirk Deeter, author of Fly Fishing for Carp (Stonefly Press, 2013) and The Little Red Book of Fly Fishing with the late Charlie Meyers (Skyhorse, 2011), editor of Trout Unlimited’s flagship magazine, TROUT, and co-owner of Angling Trade magazine, and contestant in the 2012 Lake Henshaw Carp Throwdown and South Platte River Pro-Am Carp Slam

LEE'S FERRY TAILWATER
Hosts Terry & Wendy Gunn, editors of 50 Best Tailwaters to Fly Fish (Stonefly Press, 2013), are the owners and operators of Lee’s Ferry Anglers and Cliff Dwellers Lodge in Vermillion Cliffs National Monument connecting the North and South Rims of the Grand Canyon, co-hosts of "Fly Fish Television Magazine", and holders of over a dozen IGFA world records, will make this trip as memorable as the setting.

MAINE ARCTIC CHAR
Kennebec River Outfitters owner Bob Mallard, author of 50 Best Places to Fly Fish the Northeast (Stonefly Press, 2014), hosts a unique bucket list trip for Maine arctic char, also known as the Sunapee or Blueback Trout, and found in only a dozen or so locations. Known as a dedicated gear head, Bob holds more gear knowledge than almost anyone you’ll meet, which adds a unique bent to those days on the water and evenings by the fire.

MUSKIE
Quite possibly the most recognized name in muskie fly fishing, Robert Tomes is the author of the groundbreaking Muskie on the Fly (Wild River Press, 2009) and 25 Best Places to Fly Fish for Muskie (Stonefly Press, 2013). He continues to prove that the “fish of 1,000 casts” can be caught with the right flies, technique, and location, and will put you in the best position to land one of the behemoths.

NORTHERN PIKE
Robert Tomes, author of 25 Best Places to Fly Fish for Northern Pike (Stonefly Press, 2013), hosts this trip for hard-fighting, hard-striking, northern pike, the prolific cousin (from the esocidae family) of the muskie. Big, aggressive fish on big streamers and flies, in numbers that will make any arm sore.

REDFISH
Conway Bowman, author of 25 Best Places to Fly Fish for Redfish (Stonefly Press, 2014) and The Orvis Guide to Beginning Saltwater Fishing (Skyhorse, 2011), is the host of Sportsman Channel’s very successful "Fly Fishing the World” series, and owner of Bowman Bluewater, Southern California’s premiere saltwater guide service. Despite his very visible reputation for mako shark on the fly, he is also the IGFA world record holder for redfish.

STREAM TROUT OF THE SOUTHWEST
Mark D. Williams and W. Chad McPhail, authors of An Introduction to Fly Fishing for Trout (Stonefly Press, 2013), 50 Best Places to Fly Fish the Southwest (Stonefly Press, 2014), and Colorado Fly Fishing: Where to Eat, Sleep, Fish (Johnson Books, 2011), as well as roughly 20 other titles, are professed trout bums, campers and hikers at heart, and have been fly fishing the Southwest from their basecamps in west Texas and southern Colorado their entire lives.
